Come on in.....
Yikes, it's been a full week since the last post. Whatever have I been doing? Knitting Ms. Swallowtail, of course. I love this little shawl. I have enjoyed this project so very much that I'm pretty sure I'll go back to it for at least a couple more dates.
Photo heavy here today.....blocking Ms. Swallowtail on Friday morning, gave her a gentle bath and the only place I have to block anything that size (I know, it's not that big, still) is our bed. So, would you care for a mini-tour of the bedroom? I have to admit that I love the photos where you can see the homes in the background...I do, I just love them. So, come on in....here's the basic view when you walk through the door...
This is Bobby's corner....
This is Gracie's nap bed, she's 4 years old now but still likes getting in this for her naps...go figure.
Gracie has always had an intense fascination with these guys...always....she calls them her Angel Men.
My side of the bed...
Stuff on it...
This is a photo of my Dad, it's actually a great photo of him but my photo of the photo leaves a lot to be desired....I miss him fiercely.

Thanks for the tour of your bedroom! I love all the photos and bits of memory on your highboy, tables, etc. Gracie must 'snuggle' up to get in her little bed, but most children do love 'cozy' little places. Swallowtail looks great!
Gorgeous swallowtail, Marianne!
And I like your bedroom. I was trying to figure out what books were on your nightstand but alas they were blurred ;)
Love your bedroom M, thankyou for showing us around, and what a beauty that swallowtail shawl is, she's going to be thrilled with it.

Wow, Ms. Swallowtail looks stunning! Thanks for the bedroom tour. I also like little glimpses into people's houses like that. Your bedroom wall color looks pretty. Is it a Tiffany-box blue? I want that color on my bedroom walls. I hate my bedroom. *sigh*
I love your bedroom, Marianne, so pretty and warm.
Your Swallowtail is beautiful, I'm longing to knit one! :0)
Wow, your Swallowtail turned out beautifully. I like the look of it in the heavier yarn. Well done!
Thanks for inviting me into your home..I love the Swallowtail..that is so intricate!!..and all your photos, momentos..Your handsome Father!
I truly understand missing your Dad..
It will be 17 years this week and it's still a fresh miss:( I was quite a Daddys girl..no one takes their place..even the best of hubbys.~~ Happy Knitting
Had fun catching up, Marianne. Loved all the pix, the quizzes were hilarious, the shawls are exquisite, very glad you only ended up with a divot (yeeks!), and belated Happy Birthday to Gretchen!!
LOL - well, I couldn't remember everything, so had to do a blanket comment. ;) Enjoyed everything greatly!
Hi again! Marianne, about my previous comment, I obviously have you mixed up with someone else, since of course your yarn is laceweight. there are so many Swallowtails on the go in Blogland now it's hard to keep track! I know somebody was doing one in fingering weight that I was waiting to see finished...
In any event, I like the close gauge of yours. Perhaps if I do another one I shall try the smaller needles too. It s just gorgeous.
Oh, the Swallowtail just looks gorgeous. Nice job!
Your bedroom is so clean and tidy it's making me want to go clean right. now. *g* Thanks for the tour.
What a beautiful bedroom, looks so neat, tidy ove the shawl too, I finished the flower garden shawl but it's really small, which is great cos I've made it for a small person but I will try the Swallowtail next with the beautiful cashmere yarn my colorswap pal gave me. I also had a question I was going to post about blocking, it was along the lines of 'how do you block a shawl when you don't have a blocking board?', clever you knowing how to answer me before i asked! I can quite understand Gracie enjoying her snuggly pit too. I love all your nicknacks everywhere, special photos of yester year....aww...you tidy girl you!
Oh, that JoLynn is a lucky girl!! I don't even have words for how lovely that shawl is...such stunning work you do, my dear. I share the view of another of your commenters, though: now I have to go clean my room!
I love your bedroom , me and Jeff have one so small that only the bed fits in with a chair . As an official "Hamster" I would love to snuggle in Gracie's place .As a child I used to be found sleeping in the coal-cellar ...anywhere. I still am a first class napper.
As for that shawl , it is so beautiful ! . I sleep with ear-plugs because of a certain snoring person ! When I nap I like the noise of a low radio or Holly drawing even a favourite film . The couch is my bed from bed and I love snuggling up with a blanket I made. My idea of a treat is three hours nap time.
Swallowtail is beautiful as I knew it would be in the lovely "Oregon Coast" Shadow!!
Now I have to go clean my bedroom....
Your bedroom is beautiful, looks so cozy. I am trying to paint the entire interior of my home, so I won't be offering any tours anytime soon...what a mess. You have outdone yourself again with the Swallowtail, simply gorgeous.
Your shawl is amazing, as is everything you do. Thanks for the bedroom tour - - I loved all the photos and books. Your father was very handsome. Happy Knitting!
Ms. Swallowtail looks amazing.
Thanks for sharing a little of yourself through your home. The Swallowtail is gorgeous!
Beautiful swallowtail - very inspiring.
What a cozy, restful bedroom! The wall color is so peaceful.
Your swallowtail is the prettiest I've seen yet! Wow!
Aurora sleeps with a small fan on her dresser which she turns to low for the whitenoise. I don't enjoy extra sounds. Even during the day.
I love this room! Your knitting is really spectacular!!!
